East Tennessee Repeater Frequencies
Johnson City, Kingsport, Bristol, Erwin / Unicoi County (I-26 southwest), and the surrounding ridges — one hill can unlock three states. This page points you to the verified repeater lists KI4TQN maintains, including NETNRC (netrc423.org) linked machines.
Three ways to use the same data

Ham repeaters, GMRS, DMR, nets, clubs, NOAA, and broadcast — with CHIRP CSV + PDF. Best for initial programming at home.

Searchable offline repeater table inside the tools PWA. Filter by band or call sign when you cannot scroll a 40-page PDF in the rain.
DMR near the Tri-Cities
East Tennessee has local BrandMeister coverage for operators with DMR radios or hotspots. Always confirm color code and time slot on-air — programming tools guess; repeaters do not.

NETNRC repeaters
Regional linked infrastructure for the Tri-Cities and Erwin / Unicoi: 146.805 MHz PL 203.5 (2m), linked GMRS nodes, and 224.160 MHz 220 backbone on Holston Mtn (W4WAU) with good coverage from Elizabethton through Kingsport and beyond. SKYWARN D7 nets Tuesday; NETNRC community nets Wed/Fri/Mon — see local.php NETNRC section and netrc423.org/events.
Verify on-air
Repeater trustees change tones, nets move times, and linked systems reconfigure without updating every website. KI4TQN data is verified periodically — listen first, use conservative power, and identify legally.
Wrong tone or offset is the most common beginner mistake. Use the offset calculator and CTCSS decoder while programming, then run a low-power kerchunk test if the repeater owner allows.
