Quarterly comms drill (90 minutes)

What consulting engagements expect you to run every 90 days — tabletop Primary failure, live check-ins on Alternate, documentation close-out.

  1. T+0 — Brief: Scenario: cell and internet down 4+ hours. Assign roles (NCS, scribe, property manager).
  2. T+10 — Go/no-go: Go/no-go checklist for weather and safety.
  3. T+15 — Primary fail: Announce cell unavailable. Staff retrieves printed PACE card.
  4. T+25 — Alternate: Check-in on GMRS or 2m repeater per plan. Log in ICS-214.
  5. T+40 — Contingency: Simplex or Meshtastic welfare check between buildings.
  6. T+55 — Emergency path: Tabletop HF/Winlink message — Winlink workflow (or phone drill only if no HF license).
  7. T+70 — Debrief: What failed? Update kit maintenance and channel list.
  8. T+85 — Export: Incident workspace packet for records.
