When to use HF emcomm tools

HF becomes your contingency when repeaters, internet, and cellular fail across a wide area. Start with the propagation advisor — fetch live SFI and K-index when online — then use the NVIS advisor for regional voice nets. Winlink templates and gateway references support message traffic when voice nets are congested.

Field HF also depends on power and antennas: size your system with the power system sizer and wire dimensions from the antenna calculator. Log contacts in the field QSO log and fold results into the incident workspace export.
