First-hour checklist

  1. Mount radio body where airflow exists — heat sink needs ventilation in summer deployments.
  2. Fuse the 12V feed at the battery or bus bar — not only at the cigarette plug.

  4. Check SWR on 2m and 70cm before relying on the install for SKYWARN or ARES.
